University of Louisville renovates new Hite Art Institute’s Master of Fine Arts Program

The transformation of a warehouse in Portland into an academic space filled with art studios and archaeology labs is almost complete, marking¬†a major expansion of the University of Louisville’s presence in west Louisville that could spark new partnerships.

After well over a year of renovations, the sprawling brick building at 1606 Rowan St. will¬†soon be home to studios for the Hite Art Institute’s Master of Fine Arts program at the university¬†and new workspaces for the archaeology program. It will also house collections of archaeological artifacts.
